My name is Janell Kiehl, and I am running for Prescott Valley Town Council to be a voice for the citizens and address issues that matter to the community.

As your Council Member, I will lead with integrity, truth, and transparency. I will listen to and value your concerns. Your feedback will inform and guide my decisions.

I support prudent and sustainable growth that is thoughtfully planned with priority given to preserving the key elements that make Prescott Valley unique.

Public safety is a priority. I will work to ensure the availability of adequate medical services and advocate for disabled accessibility compliance in town facilities. Residents’ quality of life will always take precedence.

I will work to protect natural open space and preserve the beautiful landscape of Prescott Valley, especially Glassford Hill. I support “passive” recreation on Glassford Hill for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.

Safe, sustainable drinking water, free of contaminants, is essential. I will prioritize PFAS remediation and treatment solutions.

I do not support new taxes and am fiscally conservative. I will not accept campaign contributions from, nor be unduly influenced by, major landowners or developers. I will ethically represent all citizens of Prescott Valley and advocate to enhance our quality of life.

My husband, John, and I permanently relocated to Arizona 10 years ago. The birth of our granddaughter brought us to Prescott Valley in 2021.

We value family. In 1997, with two young girls at home, John and I were licensed to serve as foster parents. Over a 10-year period, we fostered forty-five children. It was challenging at times but extremely rewarding. Our family embraced a variety of personalities and welcomed all with love and empathy. We are all better people from having had that experience.

I am an ardent supporter of public education. I have served on the PTA, volunteered in the classroom, and as a Girl Scout Leader.

I have over 15 years of experience successfully managing Homeowner Associations. Working as an HOA manager, I earned a Certified Manager of Community Associations certification, and became an expert at working with boards, residents, and open meeting laws. I prepared budgets, managed operating expenses and replacement of capital assets.

As a former real estate agent, licensed in Washington State, I am experienced in contract negotiations and Fair Housing laws. I had a fiduciary duty to my clients and took the responsibility seriously. I will continue making responsible decisions with public taxpayer monies.

I am currently attending the Prescott Valley Citizens Academy. I am endorsed by the following local citizen organizations: Prescott Valley Citizens Alliance (PVCA), Stop Lakeshore650. Superstition Hills United and Stop the Mine.

I hope I have earned your confidence and your vote.
